Volunteers
Needed in helping with the following: MKAP Educational
liaisons (8-10) board members Jamie King and Lori Goodsell. Will include
getting flyers distributed and/or in newsletters/or speaking to groups regarding
tshirt sales, brick sales, tile sales, raffle tickets, event ticket sales, bag
program, penny drives and all other events. Groups served include Girl Scouts,
Boy Scouts, Pudding Hill, Steeple School, Eames Way, South River, Gov Winslow,
Martinson , Daniel Webster, ABC Daycare, Beansprout, Bright Horizons, Cherubs,
Kindercare, Homestead Family Daycare, Jack & Jill, Miss Hannah's preschool,
Oceanside Pre-K, Rec Dept Preschool, South Shore Head Start, Tots and Pops Family
daycare, etc. Visibility committee (3-5) Board member John
Vallier constantly researching and monitoring all local events and getting MKAP
a spot. School and other liaisons advise these folks of events we can participate
in for entry into database (ex: preschool open house, octoberfest, easter egg
hunt) Large event committee (10ish) board member Meghan Enwright
Break into subgroups of 2-3 to work on upcoming large events, star market, comedy
night, family day, webster house wine tasting, etc Small event committee
(6-10) board member Sarah Guilfoyle engage in all aspects of planning
of smaller fundraising events, i.e. playhouse raffle, Scalliwags, ToyBox, restaurant
fundraisers, carwash, etc. Staffing committee (15-25) board
member Shauna Ambrose . Two folks to help Shauna coordinate staffing for events
and another 10-18 to actually staff table and/or work at events, selling tshirts,
donation jar etc, outside of grocery stores and at visibility events. Media
Relations Committee (3-5) board member Elizabeth Zimmer and Matt McDonough
advertising in local televised, radio and print media. Prepare written documents
for same. Obtain ad space as needed in local media. Correspondence
Committee (4-6) board member Jen Cedrone prepare and transmit thank you
notes acknowledging all donations of cash, items and in kind services. Track notes
written and items received for acknowledgement on website. Prepare other solicitation
letters for local businesses and transmittal of same. Grant Research/Writing
Committee (4-6) board members Jen Cedrone and Charlotte Tilden-Jen will
be grant writing coordinator (tracking grants applied for, status, deadlines and
results), Charlotte will be content editor, reviewing the written grants for compliance
with requirements prior to submittal. There are a number of grants available for
playground projects. Some are from banks (like Eastern, Citizens) and others from
bigger business (Hamburger Helper, Nike) all of which would be available to a
project like ours. Ideally those who have worked in the area of grantwriting,
advertising, public relations or other areas requiring written advocacy would
be preferable. [b]Fundraising Committee[/b] (8-12)-board
members Elizabeth Zimmer and Jen Cedrone calling local businesses (including those
near but not in Marshfield) for their support, providing correspondence committee
with letters and addresses of businesses requiring letters, visiting businesses
making in person requests for monetary and in kind donations. Publicity
Committee (6-10) board member Tony Pina make and hang signs and fliers
for events. Leave fliers at local businesses and municipal locations. Assist Tony
in making and hanging of large signs and banners and removal of same when event
is completed. Community Organization committee (6-8) board
members Jamie King, Lori Goodsell, and Matt McDonough act as liaison between MKAP
and various community organizations including but not limited to Chamber of Commerce,
Kiwanis, Brooks Singer Foundation, Newcomers, Sons of Italy, Knights of Columbus,
Veterans Assoc, Community League, Seaside Gardeners, North Community Church, Trinity,
St. Christine's, Safe Harbor Foursquare, Marshfield United Methodist Church, First
Congregational, Saint Anns, Assumption etc. Click
